Indoor Champions

Valkyrs have had a successful night of indoor hockey by winning two of the indoor cups at the NSC.  Each final was played against Vikings with the Ladies, Mixed & Men's teams playing in that order.

The Ladies were up first and despite some good hockey, they were unfortunately outplayed and lost to a strong Vikings Ladies team 6-1.

However, the Mixed team took the second final of the night right to the wire and eventually ended the match 7-7.  To decide the winner, a penalty stroke competition started with Russ Miller stepping up to take the first flick...which was fired high and wide!  Luckily his better half managed to keep her composure and drilled a low flick into the bottom corner.  Valkyrs eventually emerged as 3-1 winners.

The Men's team rounded off the night with a comprehensive victory to take the Men's cup. They emerged on the right side of an 8-4 scoreline to end a very successful indoor campaign and retain the Men's indoor cup.

Congratulations to all those who took part, including Enty & Jonah who umpired throughout the season.
