An interesting bit of news and Manx hockey trivia from Kit Gawne on a current Valkyrs junior and her relationship to an Island legend.

Kit was talking to Egan Loader this weekend who told him that his 9-year-old daughter was going along to Valkyrs junior training.  Her great-grandfather was Harley Loader who played for Vikings and the Island.  Harley was by a mile the best Manx player of his era (1950s to 1970s).  Kit never saw him in his prime, but even in his forties his skills of eye-ball-stick coordination were outstanding.  It was he who scored the first goal for the first official IOM county side in 1956.
