Men's County Championships

Several members of the club represented the IOM in the Men's County Championships last weekend.  Congratulations go to Greg Miller, Gareth Morris, Russ Miller, Will Margot, Ollie Webster, Ste Lowe & Chris "Right Post" Caldwell on their selection.  Playing in the C division at Beeston, the team faced tough opposition from Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Herefordshire & Cumbria.  After a long weekend of hockey, the IOM ended up 3rd in the group with two wins and two defeats which left the IOM just outside the play-off places.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Hull was selected to umpire in the B division at Timperley.  The counties competing were Cheshire, Durham, Northumberland, Gloucestershire and Lincolnshire.  After day one, the league was wide open and it was settled in a tremendous match on the second day (which Umpire Hull was appointed to) that saw Durham let slip a 4-0 lead in the first half to lose 6-5 to Northumberland.
