Last Seasons Highlights

As we move forward into the new season lets remind ourselves of some of last season's highlights. We saw a strong performance by the Mixed A team in the cup competition which saw them come close runners up to an impressive Bacchas side. Of particular note throughout the season were the performances of Ciaran Gell that brought some good basics and energy to the side. The mixed B, C and D all showed promise but will be hoping to give a better account of themselves this year.

Everyone at the club thought that last season was to be the one where the Valkyrs Men's A team lifted the league and cup double after some very close games with Bacchas but unfortunately this was not to be and we again saw ourselves finishing runners up in both competitions. This year with the return of some old club mates the A team are looking very strong indeed.

Runners up finishes for both the Ladies A and B teams shows what great things these teams have to come. A team Captain Imogen Manning will be look to take a scalp from the Vikings A which has been a long time coming and was painfully close last season. Mandy Hewes should also be very proud of herself and the rest of the team as she guided them to a second place finish in her first season as Captain.

We also had victories with our youth teams with the U13 Girls topping the table and the Mixed U16 taking their title too. Valkyrs is entering a new era now with some much needed  youth and energy rising through the ranks; bolstering squads and pushing existing players to up their game. Along with the sponsorship with have received from West Coast Fitness the future of the club is looking very promising indeed.
