Welcome to Valkyrs Hockey Club Website

A new season is almost upon so that means that training must be starting soon.  Seniors start their training on Wednesday 25th August, 7.30pm - 9.00pm at the QEII.  Juniors will get their training underway on Wednesday 8th September, 6.00pm - 7.30pm, also at the QEII.

Along with regular training, there will be some fitness sessions run over August to get everyone back into peak condition!  They will be held each Wednesday from 11th August at 7pm at the QEII.  All club members are encouraged to attend.

As you may know, there are some new members on the club committee.  Will Margot continues as Chairman and he is joined by Andrea Kneen as the new Treasurer and Sarah McChesney as the new Secretary.  In addition, the club has enlisted the help of Michelle Clague and Helen Cowin to help plan and organise some new, mysterious social events.  Keep an eye out for those on the events page.

Back to the playing front, the Men's A team are going to be representing the club this sesaon in the England Hockey Board Vase competition.  This is a very competitive knock-out competition and the team will play their first match on Sunday 26th September.  More details will appear on the site in due course but more information can be found on the very impressive EHB wesbite: Men's Vase  

On a final note, the club continues with its sponsorship by The Whitehouse.  More affectionately known as "The Whitey" to the locals, Neil & Jamie Keig are into the second year of a three year sponsorship deal.  The club would like to thank them both for their kind generosity.
